Term Meaning
Harbor Maintenance Fees (HMF) The fee is struck at 0.125% of the value of the commercial cargo shipped through seaports only.
Haulage Transportation services locally.
Hazardous Surcharge associated with dangerous goods; dependant on class.
Hazardous Goods Goods that, as a result of a traffic accident, will harm the health or life of people and/or the environment. Also called Dangerous Goods.
Heavy Lift Surcharge Surcharge if a container is overweight and requires lifting on a rail.
High Cube (Hi-Cube, HQ) A container type with a capacity of over 40 feet.
House Bill of Lading A bill of lading issued by a freight forwarder for consolidated sea freight shipments.
