July 2023 Development Release: Empowering Business Users

The SeaRates team appreciates your great feedback and support. We release new features and enhancements every month, and this month is no exception. We present to you the results of our hard work. If you subscribe to our SeaRates news feed, we will notify you when a new release is ready.

Go ahead and check out the new features and capabilities.

SeaRates’ Logistics Map tool

We are proud to present the Logistics Map tool. Now you can add and search for requests created on SeaRates.com for shipping in the most convenient way. In the tool, the requests are placed on the map, and each of them contains detailed information about the type of transportation, the date of cargo availability, the required route, and other precise details.

In the Filter, you can specify a date range for the “Ready to upload” field.

For shippers, the tool is a quick way to get a shipping service, and for carriers, freight forwarders, and any logistics provider, it is a great way to provide their services and receive more bookings.

Tracking System

We are pleased to introduce improvements to the Tracking System API. We added "is_additional_event" and "order_id" parameters to the tool API. The first parameter specifies whether the event is provided by the shipping line or generated from additional data. The second parameter is necessary for sorting event data, as it indicates the sequence number of the shipment event.

You can also check out the improved logic for generating routes for PREPOL, POL, POD, and POSTPOD events.

We have added the ability to copy the URL of an open card in Tracking System Beta and made general performance improvements.

Further, we have added information about the time zone provided by the shipping line for each location. You have the ability to convert local time to UTC or your own time zone.

Moreover, we have added terminal data for shipping event information. It provides you with access to accurate information about ports, cities, and terminals.

You can find all these improvements in the Tracking System API documentation.

Lastly, we have made improvements to the way we work with providers, including Aladin Express, DHL Global Forwarding, Admiral Container Lines, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk, Mariana Express Lines (MELL), Leschaco, Ocean Network Express (ONE), Shipco Transport, Swire Shipping, Yang Ming, Wan Hai, Vanguard Logistics, Dong Young Shipping, COSCO, Sealand, and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

We are also glad to inform you about an update to the web version of Container Tracking next week. The current web version of the tool will soon no longer be accessible. Migrate your saved shipments to the new version of the tool.

Logistics Explorer

We have updated the result cards by improving the logic of displaying LOCODEs and city/port names.

We are delighted to announce support for CP World, the world's largest neutral LCL consolidator. CP World combines a worldwide LCL freight agency on one network. Its weekly flights connect the world's top hub ports and key destinations. That way, you can find even better freight rates for LCL shipments.

Additionally, we have added ExFreight support for Canada to US and US to Canada shipments. This allows you to search for shipments by zip code.

Ship Schedules

We have made improvements to the way we work with providers, including the RCL, KMTC, ZIM, NCL, CMA CGM, APL, ANL, CNC, Tanto, and Hyundai by Points tab and the MSC and TS Lines by Vessel tab.

Other updates

We have improved the content and design of the SeaRates Developer Portal. We also added a web integration page and a list of shipping lines that are currently supported in the Tracking System tool. You can easily find the Developer Portal under the Tools tab on the SeaRates Home page.

For the AirRates, we have improved the content and design of the Cargo Aircraft Guide, IATA Member Search, and About Us pages. We have updated World Airports with a list of airports with IATA, ICAO, and AWB Prefix codes. Also, we have replaced the Airline Codes and Airline Prefix pages with the Airports Guideline page.

Finally, we have updated the design and content of the Document templates page.

We hope that these updates will improve your experience using our services. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us.
