How to add multimodal rates in Logistics Explorer (Port-To-Door, Door-To-Port and Door-To-Door)?

First go to your Virtual Office and choose the Rates & Tariffs tab. Select Sea, then – FCL. Click on the appropriate option and select which complex rate would you like to add. Let us consider the example for Door-To-Port export shipment on a CFR basis.

Choose the country of loading and country of destination, POL and POD and specify the shipping line. You can see the table beneath showing the fixed ports you have chosen and some more cells. In the first cell, choose the type of inland delivery – road or rail, then in the next one you just put the place of loading, from which you are adding your multimodal rate.

On the final stage, simply input the currency and the rates, don’t forget to mention validity dates. Here you can either copy & paste from excel or any other table, as well as to stretch the cells if rates for different port combinations are the same. The whole process will take about 1 minute. We recommend making sure that your multimodal rate for Door-To-Port delivery contains trucking, port forwarding, OTHC and local charges, plus ocean freight (in certain cases your freight rate can contain DTHC on FILO or LILO basis) – to make your customer an exclusive complex offer.

The same way it happens with Port-To-Door and Door-To-Door shipments.

You can also view and navigate between all your rates added by different shipping lines by opening the “Rates Archive” drop-down list.

Additionally, you may add your rates via Rate Managers (DFA Premium members and Vendor Premium accounts only).
