SeaRates Updates – Week 12, 2020

Improved Request a Quote functionality


March was marked by reworking one of the oldest SeaRates features for shippers - an opportunity to leave request for an individual quote. Our team was testing the speed and performance, while transitioning the application to React technology, which allows to get maximum of this simple feature.


After registration, you submit a request. Everything is very simple. Only 4 steps to finding the best quote.

Step 1 - Select a product category.


Step 2 - Select the type of transportation, product name, volume and weight of the cargo.


Step 3 - Select a departure point and destination.


Step 4 - Your request has been created. All your requests collected in your dashboard.


Consultation with a personal manager


With the growth of sustainability strategy and landmark to increase customer service level, every commercial action must be followed-up by the personal touch. If you book a cargo on our website or subscribe on the digital service - you will be offered to proceed with personal manager, who will answer all your possible questions. Now you can book a free consultation with one of our managers and you will learn about all the possibilities of using our services.



New in Ship Schedules


We have added tariff plans and pricing for Ship Schedules.


In the API for Ship Schedules, next week, a city table will be added that is fully compatible with city names (by which you can find schedules) on the sites of shipping lines such as Maersk, Safmarine, and Sealand.

And also in the next update, support for service mods such as CY/SD will be added for the lines: Maersk, Safmarine, Sealand, COSCO, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, OOCL, Yang Ming.



Updates Pending


Load Calculator

We optimize Load Calculator when stuffing with round objects. A hexagonal layout will be presented - all voids between objects are also stuffing with goods. This will help you transport more products and calculate the exact stuffing. The update is planned in the API in the end of April, and in the user-interface - by the end of May


Booking System


According to details announced in the previous update, Booking System update is expected, namely, a new design, interface will be presented, functionality, performance will be improved, fast loading, Single Page Application. Preliminary date of beta testing release is April 1st.


SeaRates on Global IT Conference in Dubai


Within DP World, Group IT recently held their global IT conference in Dubai under the theme ‘Win Customers with Kindness’, which was attended by executive management, IT and business representatives. Chief Operating Officer for Logistics and Technology, Mike Baskaran, invited SeaRates team to participate in presentation and share about trends in shipping industry digitalization
