Getting your shipment delivered quickly all depends on where it’s going or where it’s coming from… you knew that, but how does it all work?
Different countries and ports have different regulations and procedures which will affect the time it takes for a consignee to receive a shipment at the desired destination.
This is where our SeaRates Distances & Shipping Time Calculator can give you peace of mind before your cargo makes its journey. You’ll be able to calculate how long it takes to get your cargo from point A to point B, whether you’re transporting by sea, land or air. This will help to avoid any potential cargo delays for your shipment.
Find the transit time for your cargo
SeaRates uses an algorithm to determine the estimated duration and distance for your shipment. Whether it’s FCL shipping or LCL shipping, the tool will provide the necessary data. All you need to do is enter the place of origin, destination and which mode of transport you wish to ship your cargo. Then, in moments, you’re given a clear route of the journey based on information from various shipping lines.
The tool will show you the shortest distance between the two points, how long it will take, latitude and longitude coordinates and, if you do need to know, we’ll estimate the speed it will travel too. You may want to note that shipments by air can take 7-10 days whereas shipping with ocean freight could take 15-25 days.
For example, if you want to ship goods from Shanghai to Dubai, you can see the different shipping times based on each shipping line and choose the best option for your shipment. For more information, you can contact one of our managers at SeaRates.
Integrating the Time & Distance API
Our Time & Distance API can easily be embedded onto your website, giving you and your customers effortless access to logistical information.
It’s a simple process to see how long your shipment’s journey will take via multiple modes of transport, here’s how it’s done:
- Sea Distances & Time: The most accurate ocean routes are displayed when you select your origin and destination. This means you can better plan and track your shipment in real time.
- Road Distances & Time: Using existing algorithms and average speed calculations, estimating distance and time between two land locations has never been easier.
- Air Distances & Time: This is calculated using the latitude and longitude data. You’ll see the distance your shipment needs to travel and how long it will take.
