December 2021 Development Release: Empowering Business Users

Happy winter holidays, everyone! To reinforce the festive mood, we‘re updating SeaRates, adding new features you’ve been asking for. By subscribing to our SeaRates Blog Feed, you'll be notified whenever a new release is available.

The following are the most current updates you should be aware of.

Tracking System improvements

This month, we have implemented strong validation of BL/BK numbers for the majority of shipping lines. Additionally, we improved the detection of container types for some shipping lines and the Route API's functionality with the cache, as has the cache's existing data. For the Laurel Navigation shipping line, tracking capabilities for bill of lading and booking numbers have been added.

In December, we’re proud to say that we have added support for Hai Hua Shipping (HASCO).

We now support a total of 123 carriers and 12 leasing companies, making our platform one of the few that can offer support for a wide variety of shipping lines.

You can find the updated list of shipping lines here.

Cargo Insurance page

The Cargo Insurance page now has a new design and improved SEO. If you need to know more about cargo insurance or you need a service for your business, contact us at sales@searates.com or visit this page for more information.

Customs Clearance page

We've updated the customs clearance page and added more information. You can learn more about customs clearance on this page or contact us at sales@searates.com.

Certification Services page

The Certification Services page now has a new design and improved SEO. We provide a list of certification opportunities for our clients. If you need to know more about certification services or you need a service for your business, contact us at sales@searates.com or visit this page for more information.

New features and improvements in Ship Schedules

This month, we have added support for Evergreen and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) in order to track ship schedules by vessel.

Ship Schedules API provides developers with an easy to use interface to access daily ship schedules for any vessel, anywhere in the world, at any time. Additionally, this week, we updated our documentation for the Ship Schedules API by point and by vessel. Also, we included a section in our API documentation with a list of shipping lines that will soon be added to our system. The updated documentation is available here.

Have a happy new year – and stay tuned for the product updates we are going to announce in January.
