WEC Shipping line

W.E.C. Lines started their activities in 1978 when they took over the short sea service of S.B.C. Container Lines from N.W.C. / U.K. to the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands and has been active on the Red Sea and East African trade since 1979.

Holland Maas Shipping took over the short sea activities in 1985 and has grown to be one of the leading carriers to and from the Iberian Peninsula. In 1991 the services were extended to Casablanca via transshipment in Portugal and in 1998 upgraded with services from the East Coast of Spain. In 2007 Holland Maas Shipping started their services to St. Petersburg from Hamburg and Bremerhaven and in 2008 from Antwerp and Rotterdam. The development of tramping services for 3rd parties started late 2007.

In October 2007 W.E.C. - Holland Maas Espana S.R.L. registered in Barcelona started a service from the North of Spain to the Canary Islands. In November 2008 the East Coast of Spain was connected with Las Palmas and St. Cruz the Tenerife.

Holland Maas Container Line offered services to Cuba and the French Antilles since 2004.

All the activities of the three companies in The Netherlands are now bundled in one company which will improve the service to our customers and simplifies the administration both internally and externally.

Our experience over the last 30 years combined with our excellent agency network and W.E.C. offices in Belgium, Germany, Spain, Morocco, Russia, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt and Sudan makes W.E.C. Lines a reliable carrier with extensive local knowledge of custom formalities and regulations.
