Vostochny PortGeographical locationVostochny port is the largest Far-Eastern port of Russia. The port has year round navigation,a deep water one,suitable for handling large tonnage ships up to 150000 DWT. It is joined by truck roads and railways with other regions of Russia and the countries of CIS. The shortest way from Asia to Europe - Trans Siberian Container Lines- starts here. Vostochny port's cargo handling facilities are located in the southern part of the Primorsky Krai at Wrangel Bay within 20 kilometers from Nakhodka. It is located in ideal deepwater natural bay of Vrangel which cuts into eastern coast of Nakhodka Gulf between the Cape Kamensky (42°46’N-133°03’Ost) and the Cape Petrovsky.The Gulf of Nakhodka is at the west coast of the sea of Japan and is part of Peter the Great Gulf area.
Vostochny port is located in immediate vicinity of Japan and at equally remote distances from the largest centres of trade activity of Asia Pacific region countries of Korea, Hong Kong,Singapore and China. The city of Nakhodka and Vostochny port both have the status of the free economic zone of "Nakhodka". It deeply broadens possibilities for investments by foreign businessman into development of the port in the future it will produce the most active influence on the economic development of a modern port.
