The new revisions of the Rules for the certification of systems entered into force on 1 February 2008:
- Quality Management
- Environmental
- Occupational Health and Safety Management
- Validation of the EMAS Environmental Statement
- Quality Management - Automotive Sector
Furthermore, the new revision of the document "General Contract Conditions governing System, Product and Personnel Certification" also entered into force on 1 February.
The Rules, in both Italian and English, are available on the Publications page and on the pages of the respective services of the Group site (www.rina.org) and from the site of the Certification and Services Division (www.certification.rina.org). The Rules for the Validation of the EMAS Environmental Statement are only available in Italian. Editions in local languages (i.e. Portuguese,Romanian...) will be available soon.
The main changes are:
- Initial audit consisting of two phases for Quality
- Addition of the expiry date on the certificate
- The re-certification procedure must necessarily end positively prior to the date of certification expiry indicated on the certificate
- RINA does not grant any extensions to the recertification audit date: if an organisation does not obtain the re-issue of the certificate prior to its expiry, the certificate is to be considered as having expired starting from the day after the expiry date indicated on the certificate
From the issue of the certificate by RINA, an original copy of the certifcate and of the relative three-yearly audit programme can be obtained by the organisation from the RINA Member Area.
